BSN Receives a Generous Donation

At 25 years old, Danielle Gregory can paint many things such as portraits or abstract pieces...practically anything your heart desires. She started painting at the tender age of 12 but only began painting professionally 5 years ago. She attended Providence Girls College then St. Joseph Convent Port of Spain and went on to complete her undergraduate degree at York University, Canada graduating with a bachelors in Fine Arts Honors degree and a minor in Psychology. With such great academics and wonderful talent it is easy to say that this blue eyed beauty is gifted, because that she certainly is.

The discovery of this young talent occurred when Alicia Powell a.k.a. Miss Basia went to  a gallery to get some pictures framed and saw some attractive paintings being displayed; when she inquired about the painter, she learnt it was a young talented artist by the name of Danielle Gregory.   She immediately asked for her contact so that she could meet the artist and commission a few pieces . Their first meeting was a lively one and Danielle was asked to paint a portrait of Miss Basia and the signature ‘B’ from the Basia Show logo for the office.  The finished products were amazingly breathtaking in its accuracy and beauty, the entire office stood.

If that was not enough, Danielle made her own contribution of a special painting to the Basia Survivor Network displaying her own understanding and empathy for our cause.  Her donation was the portrayal of an abstract piece in the representative colours... pink and purple which she painted specially to represent the fight against breast cancer.

If you are interested in having a one of a kind piece from this very talented artist, you can contact her at 868-749-1292 or contact via email at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

BSN Gives Back

The theme this year for the Basia Survivor Network is “giving back” and Alicia Powell advocated to the ladies of her network that despite their health status, they must remember the circumstances of others and give back to help in any way possible, since as Survivors they were given a second chance and the opportunity to help someone else.

With that being said, on Holy ThursdayAlicia, along with her Basia team and the BSN ladies delivered over $2000 worth of groceries to an impoverished single mother from Laventille with 6 children and 3 grandchildren living in a 10X10 room which they call home.  The BSN ladies and the team spoke with the children and offered some kind words of inspiration to the family and also offered an incentive to one of the daughters who would be writing CXC this year, to encourage her to pass all her subjects.

The family was very pleased and touched by the gesture and our BSN ladies truly captured the meaning of giving back.
