On Tuesday, June 15th, The Basia Survivor Network unveiled to the press, breast cancer survivors, supporters, and the world, the The Beat Breast Cancer Music Festival. Festival sponsor, Baptist Health International Center of Miami, was represented by Lawrence Cole, Assistant VP, who stopped by to express his continued support of BSN.

To kick things off, Avril Harry,RN, from the National Radiotherapy Centre presented nutrition options for during and post breast cancer treatment.

Ayurveda is a form of traditional medicine practiced in India for centuries. Several of its methods, such as the use of herbs, massage, and yoga, are considered forms of complementary medicine. Donna Camacho, presented the group with the history and benefits during treatment and post treatment of breast cancer.

And last but not least, former Miss World, Cindy Breakspeare, enjoyed a session with the survivors and shared her testimony of what maintaining happiness is all about in her life. Ms. Breakspeare hosted the launch of the festival, that was held at The Hilton Triniad & Conference Centre.
